Research First, we sit down with you and talk about what you want, and what you need. What are the goals of your website? Who is your audience? What kind of information are you going to provide? It's also a good time to talk about what you like in a design -- sites you like, colors and fonts that you use, images you would like to include -- as well as how you plan to organize your information. Filling out our Website Planner before we meet is a great place to start. |

Mockups & Storyboarding We then take our research, and the ideas from the initial meeting, and use them to create some screens showing what the main page would look like. At this point, they are still just still images, and not interactive. We should also have a good idea about what the structure of your site is going to be, as well as how it is going to function. The content can also be developed throughout the design process. |

Evaluation Now you get a chance to look at what we've done, and decide what works for you, and what doesn't. Perhaps you liked the colors in one design, but the layout in another. We can also finesse the information architecture. |
Revision We then take that information and edit our work to reflect your decisions. We put together all the parts and features you prefer, and create a new design for you to evaluate. At this point, we either go to the next stage, or, if there are other edits, we repeat this step until the design is what you envisioned. Then, if needed, we'll use your design to create a look that will be used for the secondary pages of your website. Revision of the site architecture and content are ongoing. |

Development, Population & Launch Next, we take that static image of your design, and slice it up. We add html, and if needed, javascript. Now it is a functional, liquid web page. Now you have another opportunity to make any small changes. If all is well, we'll set up the structure of your website, and start uploading pages with only the design in them. When they are all up, we can add the content, and start testing and proofing. Once everything checks out, the site can go live. Then that leads to your maintenance plan ... but that's another story. |
